Chilled Forest Berry and Buttermilk Soup

1/4 C Sugar
1/4 C Water
2 C Fresh Orange Juice
1/2 C Fresh or Frozen Blueberries
1/2 C Fresh or Frozen Strawberries
1/2 C Fresh or Frozen Raspberries
1/2 C Creme de Cassis Liqueur
1/2 C Club Soda
1/2 Buttermilk

In a small saucepan, combine sugar & water over medium heat and simmer until sugar is dissolved. Cover and refrigerate. In a food processor, blend juice and berries. Adjust sweetness by adding the sugar water as needed. Add Creme de Cassis and chill for 1-2 hours. Just before serving, add club soda to give the soup a sparkling twist. Service in chilled soup bowls and finish with a swirl of buttermilk.
