Green Beans Tapa

1 lb French beans, trimmed
2 oz butter
4 Tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 pt chicken stock
1 Tbsp garlic crushed

Place the beans in a pan of boiling salted water and cook for 6 to 8 min, until the beans are no longer raw but remain fairly firm. Drain well. Melt the butter in a pan, add the Olive oil, and heat. Add the onion and cook gently for 3 to 4 min. Add the beans, salt and pepper, and toss together. Add the chicken stock and the garlic. Cover and cook until tender, approximately 10 min. Season well and serve
