French Canadian Cheese Bread

1 Loaf French bread
1/2lb butter
1 cup chopped onions
2 tbsp poppy seeds
1 tbsp dry mustard
8 slices processed (4x4 inch) Swiss cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice ¾ inch slices in the Bread, not quite all the way through. Set on extra wide aluminum foil. In saucepan melt butter; blend in the onions, poppy seeds and mustard. Cut cheese slices in half to form triangles. Place 1 in each slice. Spoon butter mixture over the top. Seal foil well. Bake ½ hour. Unwrapping to expose the top the last 10 minutes to brown.
