                                | Mix first 4 ingredients together in a heavy saucepan and stir in 1/2 cup milk over low heat.  When smooth, add remaining milk.  Cook at medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it comes to a boil and thickens.  Then turn heat to low and cook 2 minutes longer.  Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and butter.  Pour into individual serving dishes or one big bowl.  Cover with saran and refrigerate until ready to serve. |  |
