Bread - Buttercrust Bread

1/4 c water lukewarm 95-110 degrees
1 1/4 c buttermilk room temp
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 Tbsp salt
4 Tbsp butter unsalted
3 1/2 c unbleached flour
2 1/2 tsp bread enchancer
1 tsp vital wheat gluten
2 tsp active dry yeast / quick rise
2 Tbsp butter melted

Put 1st 9 ingredients into bread machine in the order listed. NOTE: IF YOU DON'T HAVE BUTTERMILK OR WANT TO MAKE THIS OVERNIGHT, DO THE FOLLOWING IN PLACE OF THE FIRST TWO INGREDIENTS: Mix 1 & 1/2 cups of water with 2 & 1/2 tablespoons milk powder and 2 tablespoons of white vinegar then add to bread machine. Add ingredients 3 - 9. Select Basic/White cycle and Light Crust setting. THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL: After the final rise and before baking approx 1 hour before completion, open the lid, cut 1/2" slash across the top of bread and brush with melted butter. Close lid to finsh.
