8 oz. sour cream
16 oz. cottage cheese
1 egg, beaten
2 Tbsp. butter melted
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
12 oz. pkg. egg noodles, extra-wide
2 Cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add about 3/4 of the package of noodles. Boil according to the directions on the package. While you are waiting for the water to boil you can mix up the first six ingredients in a large mixing bowl. (And preheat the oven to 350 degrees.) Drain the noodles through a colander and rinse with cool water. (Drain rinse water away too.) Mix noodles into cottage cheese/sour cream mixture, adding about a quarter of the noodles at a time. Pour into baking dish (even out) and then top with the 2 cups shredded cheese, sprinkled over evenly. Bake (in middle shelf of the oven) at 350° for about 30 minutes.
