Preheat the oven to 375. Make the pudding according to the directions on the box. Arrange the wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding in layers in a 2 quart casserole, ending with a layer of pudding on top. This will make 3 layers.
To make the Meringue, Beat the egg whites and salt until frothy. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar at a time and vanilla and beat until meringue is stiff. Spread the meringue gently over the top of pudding bannana mixture and bake for 15 minutes.
Note: bananas will brown, may want to toss in a bit of lemon juice.
